If you are a parent or have stepped into a parent-like role, thank you.  There is probably no more important role we can have then that of a parent.  It is a worthy calling for sure. We have the high honor of helping shape our next generation.  I find great encouragement from Scripture when it says, “Behold, children are a gift from the Lord; they are a reward from him.”

If you didn’t know it, Sunday, July 22nd, is “Parents Day.” So take the day off and relax a little (not likely, right?).  As a parent of four children, I can tell you, parenting sure has its ups and downs. If you want to do it well, it sure takes a lot of work.  Through all the late night surprises, runny noses, tears, and teenage drama, there is nothing quite like being a parent. It’s true that most of it doesn’t come with a handbook.  But despite being challenged and pushed to the limit on occasion, there is nothing like the joy of parenthood and watching your child grow through each stage.

So this week, I hope you can take a moment and give yourself a big pat on the back and enjoy this thought-provoking list of quotes. Have a laugh or a good cry—you deserve it!

I hope one of these quotes were an encouragement to you.  Let me close by letting you know that if for some reason you didn’t have the best experience with your parents, you don’t have to repeat what you saw.  You can start fresh and be the type of parent you wish you would have had. There is good in every situation if you are willing to look for it.
