Spring Couple Activities

Let’s say it together — ready….Spring is here!  And with it nicer weather — and hopefully more opportunities for blooming romance, too.  I know we are all busy and sometimes planning ahead is hard to do, especially when it involves making time for each other.  But now when your significant other asks, “What do you want to do today,” you will now be a little better prepared with these spring couple activities ideas.  They are nothing world changing, but at least these activities will get you thinking, and possibly inspire you to think of something entirely new, too. Here’s the thing, if we want something more than the status quo, we have to do the things that the status quo won’t do.

Tackle a Home Improvement Project TogetherThere is no doubt that Spring is a great time to freshen up your outdoor space and indoor living areas.  Working together to make your home more beautiful or organized can be a great way to squeeze some extra one-on-one time in, too.  Whether that is picking out paint to give your bedroom a fresh new look, finding a cool new piece of art you both love, or getting your garden started, there are a lot of ways to improve your shared space and maybe have some fun doing it, too.  Important note, don’t forget to reward yourself with a nice meal to celebrate what you have accomplished together.

Enjoy the Outdoors – Whether that is eating dinner on the patio of your favorite restaurant or taking advantage of your own backyard, enjoy a few meals outside with just the two of you! If you have a full house, head outside when everyone is busy or asleep and enjoy a nightcap together.  It’s a great way to get rid of the last of cabin fever that may still be hanging around. Don’t forget the conversation starters! Ask your spouse how their day is, what they are looking forward to, and if there is anything you two can plan to do together for the upcoming warmer weather.

Night Sky Watching – Head out after the sun goes down to watch the stars come out one by one, or step out later in the night to check out constellations, planets, and moon gaze, too. Not sure what to look for? There are a lot of resources that can help you learn star clusters and other notable night-time events. You can download a sky app, or check out this astronomy calendar that lists prominent events like the next Lyrids Meteor Shower in April!  Night sky watching is calming, romantic, and a great way to spend some quiet minutes with just the two of you.

I hope you will take the opportunity to connect with one or more of the ideas above.  It’s important you take time to do things together on a regular basis.
