7 Ways to Support Military Families

We are always looking for volunteers to help us serve the military couples at our seminars.  Here are ways you can volunteer to help:

1. Military Marriage Seminar Volunteer

This would entail things like helping with registration; resource table; setup and tear down; and seminar host — liaison between hotel, attendees and CW staff.

2. Hosts for small groups

At the conclusion of each military marriage seminar, couples are encouraged to get plugged into a small group.  Becoming a host for a small group would include offering your home as a place for a small group to meet and possibly helping lead the small group.  You could even become the next Rachael Ray by throwing in a few treats now and then.

3. Financial Partner

For a military couple to attend a Centurions Watch military marriage seminar we need people willing to financially sponsor a couple.  The cost to sponsor one couple is $250.00.  This includes a one night hotel stay, food, beverages, seminar & supporting materials and other fun surprises. If interested in sponsoring, visit the “Support Military Families” page.

4. Marriage mentors

It is not uncommon for couples to come out of marriage seminars feeling all pumped up because they now believe they have all the answers to make their marriage great.   Unfortunately once these couples get back to the “real world” they learn how tough it is to put into practice what they have learned.  Volunteering to be a marriage mentor gives you the opportunity to invest in the lives of military couples to help them experience a godly marriage.

5. First Responders (Coming Soon)

It is a fact that soldiers are more successful in completing their mission if they know that if something goes wrong back home there is someone to help pick up the pieces.  Volunteering as a First Responder is someone who could react quickly in case of an emergency at soldier’s home.  This includes things such as: plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, grass cutting, general clean-up, babysitting and transportation.

6. Prayer

If you feel a calling to pray for people, especially those in the military then volunteering to be part of our prayer team is for you.  You will receive periodic updates on prayer needs as well as praise reports on answered prayer.

7. Adopt a Soldier Program

The Indiana Reserve and Guard will continue to be needed to support military operations around the world for the foreseeable future.  Therefore CW is looking for a team of volunteers to offer their support during times of deployment.  This would include things like sending care packages and letters to deployed soldiers; praying for a specific military family or soldier; providing Christmas gifts to children of deployed soldiers; checking in with the family left behind to see how they are doing and offer assistance when appropriate; and babysitting to give the spouse a needed break.

These are just a few ways to help support military families in Indiana.  We appreciate your prayerful consideration in volunteering for at least one of these opportunities.  By becoming involved in this exciting ground floor opportunity with Centurion’s Watch, you are teaming up with an organization that has no comparison and is on course to dramatically impact military families (i.e. Reserve and Guard) with the transforming power of Jesus Christ.
